Source: ALROSA’s President Zharkov signs notice of resignation
MOSCOW, Feb 21 (PRIME) -- Andrei Zharkov, president of Russian uncut diamond mining giant ALROSA, has signed a notice of resignation on Tuesday, a source familiar with the matter told PRIME.
“Today he said he had submitted a notice of resignation. Now the issue is to be studied by the company’s supervisory board. So far, it has not been officially put up for consideration,” the source said.
Previously, media reported that the Russian government was discussing Zharkov’s replacement as allegedly his views on the company’s development did not coincide with the government’s ideas. Media also named Sergei Ivanov, senior vice president of Sberbank and son of presidential envoy Sergei Ivanov, as the only candidate to replace Zharkov who was discussed by the government.
